A Nice Science Interlude

Just because the idea of bubble universes is so cool:



Besides the fact that we can’t ever contact them, keep in mind also that the laws of physics may operate differently in each one, making life or even stars impossible in many or most.

And it certainly doesn’t mean “parallel Earths”, where another copy of you exists.  Whew, that’s hubris, isn’t it?

Sorry, Rose, no “Pete’s World” for you.  😀

    When reading the article I was thinking the same thing; that there would be different physics & rules of existence (or whatever). But it’s nice to think there might be another me, in another universe, doing so much better than myself. The second thing that came to mind was the Chronicles of Riddick, I think they mentioned a “multiverse” in that, if I’m not mistaken.

  2. Well, there’s always the thought that one could be like Arnold J. Rimmer, Technician Third Class, “Red Dwarf” – the worst, most loserish copy of himself in all of existence. 🙂
